Introduction
Oskar Barnack was born on November 1, 1879, and died on January 16, 1936. His was in the time period of black and white photography. He accomplished all of his achievements in his home country, Germany. Although Oskar Barnack was not a professional photographer, he created a revolutionary product being the portable camera.
My View
I chose Oskar Barnack as my photographer because of his uniqueness of being a pioneer, instead of a producer. He pioneered the photography industry by introducing the first portable method of taking pictures. At first, Barnack inspired me to always build onto, or try to improve on things. During the project, I saw what an impact a single innovation can make and was inspired to always try to think outside the box and simplify complicated practices.

To achieve a picture that symbolized one of Oskar Barnack, I first used a filter to change the picture to a black and white setting. To improve the picture, I also adjusted the image so that the horizon was completely horizontal as the original was slightly slanted. Finally, I increased the contrast of the picture to give it a deeper impression, and to bring out some of the details by making objects (people, boats, islands, etc) darker the the surrounding sand and water.

This picture was taken at the Oakland Colosseum following the defeat of the San Francisco 49ers by the home team, the Oakland Raiders.

This picture was taken at the Mission San Jose High School bell tower. I made the picture grey scale so it looks more magical. I liked this photo because the lights looked very interesting.

In response to a rare storm in the Golden State, I took a picture from an interesting point of view, behind a slew of water droplets. These droplets combined with the black and white effect, gives this picture a very deep feeling.
